Striving to live the "it's not the destination, it's the journey" mindset. Walk with me awhile on this journey of life!
Welcome to my Blog!
This blog is my way of recording events in my life for my own amusement & as a journal of sorts. I really don't expect anyone else to follow this. I am all for DOING, not watching or reading about adventures! However if anything I have done or am talking about doing on here inspires you to "GO FOR IT", then I've done my good deed of the day.
Beginning a new chapter of my life, flying solo after many years of married life, in a new area of my native state, Missouri (MO) & reestablishing a very simple, basic lifestyle on a spot of raw land.
If you've made it this far.....thanks for being interested in what I'm doing & coming along for the ride. I hope you enjoy my stories about my whaz going on in my life. Let our journey begin! Shift colors.

2 videos I want to share
The 7th of December marks the 73rd anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day. For some reason, I always seem to recognize Pearl Harbor Day. Even I don't understand why this day somehow affects me. I wasn't yet born or had relatives that were directly involved in this terrible event. My Dad did enlist in the Navy immediately after the attack in 1941.
On a completely unrelated note, I have rarely watched television for probably close to 40 years now. My Mom was a tv addict. I don't remember her ever NOT having the television on. Needless to say, I've had my share of pro/con discussions about television with quite a few folks in my day.
Don't get me wrong. It is not that I am anti-TV. I realize that there are quality educational programs in addition to the trash. I guess what I have a problem with was the time the TV took from my Mom's & my relationship. Other relationships were not immune from this 'time sink' either. I once asked my former spouse if we could just have one day a week that the television would not be on all day....but this TV break never happened. Anger ensued. Control issues were mentioned. Perhaps these types of incidents are at the root of my aversion to television.
I have been known to watch some TV series. But even for stories that do catch my interest, still hard to remain seated, staring at a screen for more than an hour. Maybe I'm just antsy.....Anyway admittedly, I do enjoy movies. I ran into the below Addams Family Thanksgiving clip on YouTube somewhere along the way & even though everyone & their dog have most likely seen this movie &/or clip way too many times, it is new to me so just had to put this on my blog.
There was also a commercial that preceded my original Addams Family clip viewing on YouTube that I thought was equally so funny that I could hardly believe that it was legit!! I just can't help myself....I love the Brits so much that living in the UK is on my "Bucket List".
AND there really is such a product! During the video the gal sez it is legit, so it must be!!! No matter, decided to split them up & have TWO videos to share today. So here is the commercial that I thought was hilarious!
I hope you enjoy these clips as much as I did! As we all sit about our homes on very damp & cold evenings, a good movie or two sound like just what a body needs....with an occasional throwing of a log into the ole wood stove!
I'm still having problems deliberately making time to write down those '5 things I'm grateful for' every night before retiring. ARG! One thing I am most grateful for is a warm & dry home! Can you imagine living outside on a night like this? Brrrrrr!
